John Pearson

John is an established artist who interprets the landscape, capturing the subtleties of colour and light using a spontaneous technique in oils. New works explore the rugged nature of the landscape using texture and a heightened palette. John’s paintings also aim to capture a quietness and sense of contemplation.

“I have two key objectives with my work. First to capture and explore the essence and subtleties of light; the way light defines both the way we see and respond to the world around us. Second, to create an impression of what we see, inviting the viewer to respond to the image in their own personal way”.

John completed a BA in Fine arts at the University of Witwatersrand – Johannesburg in 1974 has exhibited both in Australia and South Africa.
