You might be an art collector, or you are renovating your home and are interested in buying new art, but you have questions. You are welcome to also contact us and we are most willing to answer your questions and give you peace of mind. However, here are some questions many prospective buyers have:

How can I buy art from your online gallery?

It is very easy to buy art here. You just click on the artwork you want to buy. Add it to your cart and click through to the where you pay. Our secure payment gateway is Payfast for South African buyers and international buyers can use PayPal if they prefer.

South African buyers can use Payfast which is a very secure payment gateway. You can use any debit or credit card. International buyers can choose PayPal.

Painted Canvas charges a very low commission rate for artists, because we really want to make it worthwhile for them. Therefor we do not keep their artworks and to make shipping faster the artists must handle the shipping. Once you have paid for the artwork, we send the order through to the artist, and they will ensure that you get your paid as soon as possible. The artist will contact you to arrange for the shipping cost.

Yes the artwork you purchased can be shipped worldwide, but you will have to pay extra for the shipping. The artist will arrange that with you.

Our gallery is only online. However, we are planning to hire exhibition space now and then to have physical exhibitions for all our artists.

We know that there are a lot of scammers out there, and we do understand your concern. However, you pay Painted Canvas for the painting. The artist must send the painting to you, and only after you have received the painting in good order, will the artist receive their money.

Once you have made the purchase we will send the order to the artist. The artist will then package and ship it to you. The whole process should take less than two weeks, more often one week.

If the artwork arrives damaged at your address, you must immediately inform us. Your must take a video when you open the package as proof that it is damaged. Our artists will also take a video of their work before sending it. They must then take it up with the courier company. You can send the painting back and we will refund you. However if you do not have the proof that it arrived damaged, we will not be able to refund you.

If you are not satisfied with the painting, you must return it within 7 days after receiving it. After the artist has received it back in good order, we will refund you.

That is a very good question. However the answer is no. Artists know that they must charge the same price if they sell their work privately, through an online gallery or at a physical gallery. The commission they pay to a gallery is less than what they would have to pay to market their own work.

Yes you can. You have seen all the works in our gallery, but you want something specific. We can arrange that for you.
