Elizabeth Ackermann’s art journey began with the thrill of extramural art classes at the age of 11. For Elizabeth, art is not just about colour and form; it’s a way to capture the inherent beauty of Creation and the soul’s depth. Tutored by masters like Sonja Frenz, Elize Bezuidenhout, and Laura Wenman, Elizabeth channels their influence into her own unique expressions.

Elizabeth’s preferred medium is oil on canvas, reveling in the alchemy of colour mixing and interactions. A pivotal moment in 2020 saw her captivated by portraiture after a dedicated course. Drawn to the mastery of Sargent, Sorolla and Vermeer, she is continuously developing her skill. Venturing into graphic design, she finds great delight in blending the digital with her artistic vision.

When her work brings joy or hope, it’s the highest affirmation of her creative spirit. Through her art, Elizabeth aspires to make the unseen, seen, and the forgotten, remembered.
