Johanneke Strydom

I am a dreamer of colour and brushstrokes on canvas.

I dream about light and shadow patterns.

Everywhere I see beauty.  What you will see on these pages is what caught my eye, what spoke to me deeply; may it be landscapes, people, animals or flowers.  I love it all.

I am compelled to do something with the feelings it evoke in me.  Painting is my response.  A visual poetry, where I try to capture the essence of what I see.

I am also a wife, mother of 4, grandma of 1.  We stay in Worcester, Western Cape, but I am a traveller at heart.  I always long for new horizons, new cultures and the freedom of exploration.  I am happiest wandering somewhere in a vast landscape with my backpack and plein air gear.
