MS du Toit

I had no formal art training, but developed my God-given talent through practice and studying books about painting and other artist’s work. Art was not offered as a subject at my school so I started painting at a young age with the help of a few “How to paint” books. Even though I also worked with watercolour and other mediums I have always preferred to work in oils. I went to the University of Stellenbosch where I completed my B.Sc degree after which I went to the Rand Afrikaans University for my B.Sc. Honours degree. After working as an agricultural meteorologist for six years, I decided to rather pursue a career in the arts. I moved to Cape Town and started working as a freelance graphic designer. My focus turned more and more towards the fine arts. I have attended many informal painting classes and workshops, both online and in person.
